the aliens are not coming

The aliens have never
come near
here

don't be impatient
son
they're just too
far away
from this galaxy

i know the cosmos is vast
and the stars
tell us of the past

but

the aliens don't really
care about us
the way we care
about them

maybe
they just don't need
oxygen
or water
the way
you and I
do

The aliens
are not coming for us
son
they're just too far away
to hear
our simple songs

the whales
the jungles
the ice
in our sphere

they don't care about
what's here

they don't care
about demons
they don't care
about lust

they're not coming for us
son

want as you must

Beliefs in extraterrestrials beings searching for us could be nothing but a Freudian projection.

Humans, like all beings, possess a degree of self-centered-ness which evolutionarily favors the propagation of a species.

Even bacteria have this propensity. They don't care if they kill the host, they are genetically programmed to propagate no matter what other life form they choose to engulf. The only difference is that we as humans have the capacity for introspection, although usually this introspection only scratches the surface of individuality which is just one pixel of the picture.

Is this why we always envision aliens to be humanoid in their structure and possessing a very human quality in their need to connect with us.

I think that lately we are all generally feeling this collective guilt (subconscious or unconscious) related to the fact that we may have sullied the environment of our planet, a planet whose uniqueness in its ability to sustain life may be rarer than originally thought.

Believing in "covered up" alien encounters could be a method of distraction from our guilt because we think that, if there is some humanoid-like creature from beyond who comes to visit earth, they will somehow solve all our earthly troubles and we will be able to escape our tarnished planet without really having to work out anything ourselves.

They just discovered 40 something new planets around surrounding stars. None of them, however seem to be as perfect a distance from the sun to sustain life like our earth.
