Candy Cane Lane
I'm staying at my Dad's place on a street dubbed "Candycane Lane", where all the neigbours are forced to put up unreasonably large amounts of Christmas Lights up all over their house and yards. Buses filled with senior citizens drive by slowly so the passengers can stare and gape at the sight. I go to the malls and hordes of people spend and push and shove and mill around like swarms of insects. My heart feels sad about this somehow, but why?

Peach Pinwheel Coffee Cake...yummmm
Hey everyone, it's baking time! Feel free to share with me any recipes that you think I would like, and that is just about anything...i think this could be a product of me having endless amounts of free time (advice for you: don't ever succumb to the common thought that having absolutely nothing to do is good for your soul, IT'S NOT, but this is another post all into itself)
Anyway, heres the cake.
A delicious treat for those cold winter nights. Despite its shabby appearance, it's delicious, trust me!
Ingredients:
Cinnamon Topping:
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
1/3 cup flour
1-1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup butter
Cake:
1 can peaches
2 and 1/4 cup flour
3/4 tsp baking soda
1 and 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup sour cream
3 eggs
Mix the dry ingredients for the cake. Combine sugar and butter in a separate bowl. To this mixture, add the eggs, one at a time while beating with a whisk. Stir in dry mixture. Now add the sour cream. Spread half the batter into a baking dish, add half the cinnamon topping. Put the rest of the batter in then add the rest of the topping. The arrange the delicious peaches atop in a decorative fashion. Bake at a350 degrees F for 50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes clean out of it. Enjoy! Its really yummy, don't be swayed by this horrifying picture!
