Does anyone want to sublet my apartment, for July and August, or any one of the two months? It's cute, sunny, has a balcony and is right in the middle of the plateau. Perfect for one person, could be good for two. Email me if you want it! I'm going somewhere (don't know exactly where yet).

Wet Dreams

For about a year now I've been having reccuring dreams about large expanses of water. Either I'm swimming in it, standing next to it looking in, or its flooding all over. A few nights ago I had a dream where I was in an apartment alone, and I looked out the window and could see only water from my window up until the horizon, and it was rising up past my front door so I couldn't get out. I wasn't even scared, I was just annoyed.

The Grizzly Man

I just saw a documentary called "the Grizzly Man" which follows the adventures of a young man named Timothy Treadwell.
Timothy Treadwell was an environmentalist, filmaker, and a schoolteacher who educated children about animal rights. He lived with the grizzly bears for 13 summers in the wilderness of Alaska, away from any kind of civilization. What I found amazing about all this was that he always believed that these animals were peaceful creatures, and would always say kind words to them like "I love you!". Everyone thought he was crazy for doing this, especially without a gun or weapon to protect himself against them.

He swam in the lakes with the bears and when they showed signs of aggression towards him, he would make a loud sound, stomp his foot as if to charge them and scold them loudly, which maintained his dominance within the society of bears.

The most amazing thing of all is that he made friends with a fox and all her pups, and they'd follow him around and he would pet them just like little dogs. It made me want to have a little fox as a pet.

But I wonder, why didn't he achieve the same kind of intimacy with the bears? When they would come up close to him and sniff his finger, he would immediately say, "ok, go away now, go play, it's ok"? Is it because he was afraid that they were going to hurt him?

During his last summer there a bear attacked, killed and ate him and his girlfriend. HIs girlfriend always said that she was afraid of the bears, then why did she go there with him? My Mom said that it was probably because of sex, but I'm not sure. What do you all think?
